At the Indianapolis Muslim Community Association (IMCA), we are dedicated to being a central hub for all the services our community members need. From spiritual guidance at Masjid Al-Fajr, education through our full-time and weekend MTI and Al-Ilm schools, to social support via our food pantry, zakat, free clinic, and Janazah services, we offer comprehensive care. 🌟🌟 Youth Leadership in Action 🌟
For years, we dreamed of an IMCA Junior Basketball Team—a space for unity, growth, discipline, and character development. That dream became a reality thanks to Coach Nabeel @sheff_nabeel. Despite a demanding life as a working student, Nabeel singlehandedly built our first IMCA basketball team from the ground up, leading them to victory in the AICI Midwest’s first Muslim Basketball Tournament.
Among the many I’ve mentored, Nabeel stands out. As the youngest leader with the biggest impact, his dedication, creativity, and humility shine through. He brought together diverse players from different high schools across the city to create the IMCA Family—a team rooted in values, team spirit, and exemplary character.
Tonight, I had the honor of meeting the entire team, and I couldn’t be more impressed by their leadership, camaraderie, and brotherhood.
To me, this team is about more than basketball—it’s about shaping young men for success in Deen, education, and life. Welcome, Coach Nabeel and the entire team, to the IMCA Family!
